Overview

The NMCRS Education Assistance program provides grants & interest-free loans to eligible Navy & Marine Corps dependents and MECEP/MECP students so they reach their post-secondary education goals with less financial stress.

  • 2026 Timeline

    • 2/16: Application Opens
    • 4/17: Application Closes
    • 6/18: Award Announcement
    • 7/7: Award Acceptance Deadline
    • 7/21: Awards Dispersed to Schools

  • Eligible Applicants

    Applicants must be:

    • Child (under age 23 on September 30, 2025) of an active duty, retired or deceased Sailor or Marine
    • Spouse of an active duty or retired Sailor or Marine (obtaining their first Bachelors or first Masters degree)
    • MECEP/MECP student (loan only)

  • Program Eligibility

    Full or Part-time program in:

    • Career & Technical Education
    • Associates Degree
    • Bachelors Degree
    • Masters Degree (spouses only)
